My childhood experience was difficult. This had lasting mental and emotional effects on me until adulthood. I had extremely low self-esteem, low self-worth and limiting self-beliefs. I didn’t know how to love myself or how to be kind to myself – I was at war with myself. I didn’t know who I truly was and didn’t know what I wanted in life. I did what was expected. I didn’t know how to manage my emotions and my anxiety. It wasn’t until in my mid-30s that I discovered yoga and meditation. Through this, along with holistic counselling, I was able to heal and connect with my true self and transform my life – I was finally free! My mission is to help children learn how to love themselves so that no child ever goes through what I went through.
I established Namaste Yogis in 2017 after experiencing the healing and transformational benefits of yoga, journalling and meditation. As a mother, I wanted to make sure that my children and everyone else’s children grow up knowing how to treat themselves with love and kindness, so that they may learn to treat others with love and kindness.
Since then, I have had the pleasure of teaching more than 1500 kids yoga classes across Early Learning Centres, Montessori Centres, Local Council Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools and I am not planning on stopping soon! I love it that much!
I am a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) with Yoga Alliance and a Kids Yoga Therapist who has trained with the best in the kids yoga industry – Zenergy Yoga, where training is directed specifically at running yoga classes for school groups whilst targeting specific conditions. I have also trained with Rainbow Kids Yoga.
I like to be involved in the community and where possible, Namaste Yogis participate in various community events where we run free kids yoga classes. This has included Point Cook Pop Up Park, the Werribee Children’s Picnic and Wyndham Learning Festival.
